LVDT sensors with a spring-loaded plunger and bearing assembly are referred to as gageheads. These allow for easy installation. The core rod assembly does not need to be attached to the part to be measured thereby making the gagehead an ideal solution for assembly line position sensors and gaging stations. AC, DC and digital output versions are available with ranges from ±0.020” to ±2.000”.
With no physical contact between its core and coils, the LVDT produces a highly repeatable, low noise output voltage linearly proportional to prove displacement. Output can be sensed, amplified and displayed with any Measurement Specialties LVDT compatible signal conditioner, digital readout or LVDT computer based system. Our LBB gageheads feature a unique two-piece construction. Therefore, units are repairable should either probe structure or cables become damaged. A bend relief spring prevents cable damage at lead exit. Positive mechanical stops prevent damage to the LVDT from severe impacts to the end of the contact tip in cases of overstroke.
