MEAS offers piezoelectric accelerometers in both high temperature, charge mode PE (piezoelectric) designs and lower temperature IEPE (Integral Electronics PiezoElectric) voltage mode configurations for dynamic measurements in critical applications. Key features of our piezoelectric accelerometers include broad frequency response, low residue noise, wide measurement range and rugged construction. Voltage Mode & IEPE Accelerometers Voltage mode piezoelectric is the most popular accelerometer design due to its high level output and its wide bandwidth. The output of a piezoelectric sensor is AC-coupled by design, and is therefore best suited for dynamic measurements. The Integral Electronics PiezoElectric (IEPE) type offers the convenience of using a two-wire coaxial cable for power and signal transmission running in a constant current configuration. Most modern signal analyzers and data acquisition modules have built-in constant current power supply capable of interfacing with IEPE accelerometers. Measurement Specialties’ voltage mode accelerometers come in the traditional 3-wire or 2-wire (IEPE) configurations. A wide range of shapes and sizes, including surface mount technology designs are available to suit various applications. Charge Mode Accelerometers To measure shock and vibration in high temperature environments, a charge mode piezoelectric accelerometer may be needed. Measurement Specialties’ charge mode accelerometers are designed with stability and reliability in mind. They come in various configurations to suit most application environments and are hermetically sealed to maintain their critical high impedance characteristics. In addition to its high temperature operating capability, when used with a high quality charge amplifier, a charge mode accelerometer offers its users unmatched dynamic range scalability. Signal conditioners, power supplies and preamplifiers are also offered to assist T&M customers in finding the best system solution. ATEX certification is available and all units are CE and RoHS compliant.
